Protect Animals from Cosmetics Testing Cruelty

The Humane Cosmetics Act of 2021 will end (with limited exceptions) the manufacture, import and sale of cosmetic products developed using animal testing in the U.S. It also directs the Food and Drug Administration to develop a strategic plan for the development and implementation of more non-animal test methods and includes boosted transparency provisions.

State Level Actions

Federal issues tend to get a great deal of attention, but what happens at the state level is just as important—perhaps even more so. By advocating on behalf of statewide issues, you can have an immediate, local effect on animals and make a positive difference directly in your community.

In many cases, success of these statewide issues can even help lead to even bigger and better things. Issues that gain traction and passage at the state level often help spur national progress, since federal legislators can point to the successes of laws in their states to make the case for federal versions of those laws.
