Working to get animals out of labs for 95 years
CHIMP Act ends use of chimps in federally funded research

First sanctuary grant given
Receiving the IFER fellowship grant is an incredible honor, as it underscores the importance of developing ethical, non-animal-based research methods. The grant supports my commitment to advancing biomedical technologies that align with the 3Rs principle (replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal testing). It also connects me with a network of researchers dedicated to ethical scientific innovation, reinforcing the broader movement toward more humane and human-relevant research methodologies.
I wholeheartedly endorse the efforts of IFER and NAVS in funding smarter science, advocating for the end of animal research, educating young scientists, and championing the well-being of animals. I genuinely believe that their contributions are pivotal in advancing the field of biomedical science.
I also just wanted to thank the people at NAVS for dedicating their time to advance science without harming animals. I think we are already starting to see really promising alternatives to replacinge animal testing altogether, and it’s definitely worth it to promote technologies like organ on a chip to get them to that point.

All-time recipients of the Humane Science Award at ISEF
Students commented how happy they were to not have to work on a real, dead animal. They were glad to not have to smell the terrible smell from the dead, preserved animals.
Because I teach human anatomy, I do not see the benefit in dissecting animal specimens. I love animals and want to promote humane alternatives to show students that it is possible to have fun without animal dissections.
As an advocate for animal rights and humane treatment of ALL animals, I fully support teaching students the humane way.

Our mission is to provide vital assistance to sanctuaries, shelters, and rescues to rehabilitate and rehome eligible animals formerly used in research or facing other emergency needs or providing lifetime care when necessary. The Animal Sanctuary Assistance Program (ASAP) is giving animals the compassion and care that they deserve.
On behalf of our team at BFP, we are so grateful for all of NAVS’ help! Your support has transformed the lives of these animals and provided them with a chance at a happy, healthy future.
We were so thrilled to be able to welcome the “Treetop Ten” from the Wildlife Waystation back in December 2024. This NAVS ASAP grant will certainly go a long way in providing the chimps with a healthy diet, medical treatment and daily enrichment…We appreciate your continued support of Chimp Haven and the work we do.
Our 223 residents, staff and I really, really appreciate all of NAVS’ support. This additional contribution this year means the world to us as it enables us to deliver on our goals and promise of exemplary care to our resident chimpanzees.
