NAVS is proud to help bring 30,000 Monkeys in Our Backyard to life—a powerful new documentary exposing the impact of NHP breeding facilities.

On October 21, the new documentary from our friends at Species Unite, 30,000 Monkeys in Our Backyard —for which NAVS served as a producer—debuted in New York City to an enthusiastic audience.

The film documents the resolve of the residents of the town of Bainbridge, Ga. as they push back against a proposed NHP breeding facility. The audience sees firsthand how a facility like this can have horrible consequences on a small town like Bainbridge, on top of the cruelty towards thousands of NHPs.

Our very own Director of Advocacy, Meredith Blanchard, joined the panel after the premiere to answer questions from the audience and discuss some of these topics further.

NAVS is proud to be a producer on the film and to help bring these stories to life. Bringing the truth to a larger audience is a crucial part of changing attitudes and furthering progress.

A very special thank you to Species Unite, whose amazing work in Bainbridge made all of this possible. We are so very proud to work with them. The film will premiere digitally on the Species Unite YouTube channel on November 1, with a live chat and a post-show Q&A. If you are unable to join, the film will be available on NAVS site on November 2 for you to watch on your own. We are so excited for you to see it!
