The National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) is proud to announce that Dowlette-Mary Alam El Din, a graduate fellow from our sister organization, the International Foundation for Ethical Research (IFER), has been shortlisted for the 2026 LUSH Prize in the Young Researcher category.

Alam El Din’s groundbreaking research focuses on advancing human-relevant, animal-free approaches to developmental neurotoxicity testing. Her work represents a significant step forward in developing more humane and scientifically robust alternatives to animal testing—a mission that aligns closely with NAVS’ core values.

The LUSH Prize recognizes researchers, campaigners, and organizations working to end animal testing worldwide. Being shortlisted in the Young Researcher category is a testament to Alam El Din’s innovative contributions to the field and her commitment to advancing non-animal research methods.

“NAVS and IFER are incredibly proud of Dowlette for being shortlisted for the prestigious LUSH Prize,” said NAVS Science Advisor Pam Osenkowski, Ph.D. “This recognition reflects her exceptional dedication and commitment to advancing human-relevant science. Her work exemplifies the rigorous, forward-looking research that is driving progress in the NAMs field.”

NAVS congratulates Dowlette-Mary Alam El Din and all the inspiring researchers recognized in this year’s LUSH Prize shortlist. Their dedication to developing better, more humane scientific approaches continues to pave the way for a future without animal testing.
