NAVS Helps Beagle Freedom Project Rescue Seven Animals from Research

Through our Animal Sanctuary Assistance Program, NAVS funded a Beagle Freedom Project rescue bringing alpacas, goats, and rabbits from a lab to sanctuary.

Through our Animal Sanctuary Assistance Program (ASAP), NAVS recently provided a grant to our friends at Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) to assist with the rescue of three alpacas, two goats, and two rabbits from a research facility.

The grant from NAVS helped provide BFP with the resources necessary to travel from Freedom Fields in Oklahoma to California and back, all to provide these animals with the fulfilling, loving lives that they deserve.

The grant also helped document the entire trip, which you can see for yourself below.

These animals will now live at Freedom Fields, a former research facility that Beagle Freedom Project bought and transformed into a large-scale sanctuary for hundreds of animals formerly used in research. NAVS provided a grant to BFP to assist with the medical care of hundreds of cats and dogs upon opening the facility, and will continue to provide critical funding to BFP to assist with the tremendous rescue work that they do.

The ASAP grant was created to be there in the hour of need for rescue organizations and the animals under their care. Every day, rescue organizations are faced with challenges, whether that be natural disaster, an influx of new animals to take care of, or cross-country rescue operations. In times like these, NAVS is there to make sure our sanctuary partners have the resources they need to provide life-saving and life-transforming care for animals. By supporting NAVS, you are directly helping organizations across North America rescue and provide fulfilling lives for countless animals.

The next time that an opportunity to rescue animals from a research facility across multiple states comes up for an organization like Beagle Freedom Project, NAVS hopes they feel empowered to do what’s necessary because of the backing of ASAP grants.

Darlene, Monty, Theodore, Percy, Stanley, Taffy, and Cider once knew only fear and confinement inside a research lab. Today, these precious lives are safe in sanctuary – feeling love for the first time – thanks to the compassion of NAVS supporters whose generosity made our grant to Beagle Freedom Project possible. Your continued partnership will help make more stories like this a reality, ensuring many more animals leave labs for good and find the safety and second chances they deserve. Please give today to make their tomorrows possible.
