Animals Deserve a Life of Love

We can give animals the compassion they deserve
Animals Are Not Equipment

Animals Used in Research Deserve a Chance at a Better Life

After being involuntarily used in research, animals are often euthanized and never get to know a life beyond a cold, dark cage and invasive, often painful, procedures. We aim to give these animals the chance to live surrounded by love and care.

Did you know?

Yes—we offer emergency grants through our Animal Sanctuary Assistance Program (ASAP).

NAVS’ Animal Sanctuary Assistance Program (ASAP) supports a wide variety of sanctuaries and rescue organizations across the country; some focus on rescuing animals from research while others have a broader focus. All sanctuaries must be located in the U.S. and be a 501(c)3
NAVS’ sanctuary grants have helped sanctuaries rescue almost every type of animal formerly used in research, including some that are no longer used in research such as chimpanzees. Because NAVS helps organizations rescue animals formerly used in research as well as in response to emergencies, our grants have helped animals of all kinds.
Through the Animal Sanctuary Assistance Program, NAVS does the work for you by vetting sanctuaries and ensuring that every dollar is going to reputable, responsive organizations. Moreover, NAVS is able to spread financial support across the country and maximize our impact on helping animals.

Animals Need Our Help

Every year, thousands of animals are rescued from research facilities or affected by natural disasters and sanctuaries are inundated with the costs of bringing in many new residents. NAVS is there to help alleviate the costs to ensure every animal gets the care it deserves.

Funding Better Care and Compassion

When animals formerly used in research are rescued, the work does not stop there. They need medical care, nutrition, enrichment, and socialization. That work can take teams of people and experts. NAVS assists sanctuaries in providing these life-changing resources.

We Step Up When Tragedy Strikes

We provide emergency funding to sanctuaries affected by natural disasters and other extreme circumstances.

We Are Your Trusted Resource

By having relationships with rescues across the country and vetting every situation, every dollar is used to help as many animals as possible.

With more than 25 years of sanctuary assistance provided, we have helped countless animals find lives full of love and care.
